I understand you had a nasty experience with Hostmonster, but really, 99.9% of their customers (including me) are very happy with them. Their downtime is neglible and their servers are fast.
CPU exceeds are caused by bad scripting. I use several databases of 5MB or more with PHP and MySQL on my most popular pages and never have a problem.
Tech support answers the phone within 2 minutes! Don’t know about you, but I, and many others, need that.
And by the way… your site, which is hosted by Dreamhost, is slow as a dog.

Bad scripting? Are you saying Vbulletin and WordPress have bad scripting?
I agree that it is easy to get to the support. But support can not help me if they suspend your website once you have more than 300-500 visitors per day..
Right per the table above.. Dreamhost loading time is not that stable but I prefer to have a loading instead of a “CPU exceeded site suspended” msg like at Hostmonster..
How many visitors you have? Can you share a link?

what about webhostingpad ? tough they have a 10k file restriction. does dreamhost has such thing. plz suggest ur review. thx.

Webhosting pad? Do you mean the control panel? I think Dreamhost has a much better control panel then cpanel very easy to use and understand.
For file upload: as on the table above you can install your own custom php then in php.ini change the settings and you can upload even 100mb files. While Hostmonster even if you succeed in putting in a higher file upload limit mysql had a time out limit so anythig taking I think it was like 60 secs or more to upload will not work.

THanks for the great post. After one year of my sign up with Dreamhost I came back to confirm that their service is great and actually they moved to new servers and my site is running much faster then before. I had no downtime in the last 1 year. Excellent service.

Another thing you need to pay attention to is the Google Adwords gift credits webhost offer…
If you accounts billing address is not the US or Canada then you are not eligible for free Google advertisement coupon..
